You've been holding your breath for this news. It just dropped. D23 2026 is officially in the books, and get this — corporate Disney actually listened to the fans this time. I still can't fully believe it either.
Disney just announced the biggest slate of expansion projects in Walt Disney World history. Sounds incredible on paper, right? Here's the hard truth. To build all of this, the Orlando parks are going to be absolute construction warzones for the next few years. Scaffolding. Dust. Detours. You name it.
So here's your rapid-fire breakdown of the D23 2026 Disney World announcements. No fluff. Just the facts you need to plan your next trip to Orlando, Florida.

And there's more. Disney also confirmed the new Tropical Americas expansion is moving forward. Here's the part that's going to hit some fans hard. Dinosaur is done. It's being replaced by an Indiana Jones dark ride. We're talking a giant snake. A Harrison Ford animatronic. A whole adventure inside the mountain. The area will also feature an Encanto ride — you're going right through the Casita.
Animal Kingdom 2026: Is the Yeti Fixed? (Yes. Finally.)
Let's start with the win we all begged for. We complained about it for years. Disney finally listened. The massive, broken Audio-Animatronic Yeti inside Expedition Everest is officially getting repaired. The "Disco Yeti" era is coming to a close. That thing that just sort of... vibrates? It's done. Retired.

Magic Kingdom Orlando: Villains Land & a Cars Expansion (2026)
Magic Kingdom is getting a massive overhaul, and I mean massive. Villains Land is officially happening. To give you a scale reference, it's going to be the size of Galaxy's Edge. That's big.
You're getting a Maleficent-inspired coaster that runs right through her fortress. Plus a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror. If villains are your thing, this land is for you.
Now for the reality check. Wait times for existing rides will spike while construction walls block the pathways. Be prepared. Expect the unexpected.

Frontierland is getting a Cars-themed expansion too. They're building a rugged off-road racing ride that cuts straight through the Big Thunder Mountain geysers. Plus a family spin ride for the little ones.

EPCOT Orlando 2026: Spaceship Earth Update & Dreamfinder Returns
EPCOT fans got a massive win. Spaceship Earth is getting its first major update in nearly twenty years. The new storyline focuses on the internet age and human connection. Finally. That ride has been telling the same story since before most of us were born.
Even better? Figment's Journey Into Imagination is getting a complete reimagining. The legendary Dreamfinder is officially returning to the ride. This is pure, unadulterated fan service. And I am here for it.

Hollywood Studios 2027: Monsters Inc. Land, Harryhausen's & Fortnite in Galaxy's Edge
Monstropolis is opening in 2027. The coaster is still under construction, but the land itself drops next year.
The biggest news is dining. Disney is building Harryhausen's, the iconic sushi restaurant from Monsters Inc. It features an animatronic octopus chef. The scene will be a dream. Getting a table will be a nightmare. It's going to be an absolute bloodbath. Plan accordingly.
Over in Galaxy's Edge, Smugglers Run is getting a Fortnite integration. Starting August 16, 2026, you can link your Epic Games account and fly a custom Fortnite mission.

Beyond Orlando, Florida: Disneyland 2026 Updates & Five New Cruise Ships
California is getting some love too. Disneyland's Tomorrowland is getting a complete reimagining. Avengers Campus is expanding, and they're building a brand-new Coco attraction.
If you hate theme park crowds, head to the ocean. Disney just announced they're building five more cruise ships, bringing the total fleet to thirteen.
